Rabat – The administration of the local Oudaya prison in Marrakech on Thursday denied allegations posted on certain electronic sites of “negligence in the treatment of a sick prisoner”.
In a clarification, the said administration specified that the prisoner in question suffers, long before his detention, from symptoms of an illness which has not yet been definitively diagnosed, and continues his treatment at the establishment where he has benefited. 13 medical examinations and several laboratory analyzes, noting that his condition is currently stable according to a statement by the doctor of the said establishment.
And the administration to add that, since his transfer on February 17, 2021 to the district reserved for convicts at first instance as part of a re-categorization operation, the prisoner in question refuses to benefit from his right to recreation and does not go out. not from his cell where he spends his time talking on the phone, under the pretext of the effect of the sun’s rays on his health despite the presence of shady places in the playground.
Regarding the allegations on his “deprivation of heating”, the same source explains that it is a prohibition in accordance with the law to cook oneself in the cell, knowing that the said prisoner benefits from a diet.
