A total of three cases of abandoned rabbits in just four days; In pairs, the long-ears were heartlessly left to their fate and the icy cold
Vienna (OTS / RK) – On March 1st, two adorable rabbits were left in a box by a telephone booth in Vienna’s 11th district, just three days later the animal rescue team of the City of Vienna had to go out twice to bring rabbits to safety again.
One of the gentle furry noses was found in a box on the street in Floridsdorf, two other rabbits were spotted free-roaming in the 10th district and luckily they could be caught in time before the cold set in at night.
All animals are now cared for, cared for and, hopefully, soon passed on to new, loving owners in the TierQuarTier Vienna.
“Rabbits that have not formed an undercoat would die of hypothermia at night at the current temperatures around freezing point. The abandoning of animals is not only heartless, it also falls under animal cruelty and you make yourself punishable by such inhuman behavior! Leaving helpless creatures behind should never be an option! ”Says Thomas Benda, operations manager of the TierQuarTier, stunned.
