On Wednesday, March 10, the Treasury issued 10-year bonds in the international financial markets on behalf of the Republic of Latvia, raising 1.250 billion euros in yield with a yield of 0.105% and fixing a coupon rate of 0.000%, which is the lowest ever achieved in Latvian debt securities issues. maturity yield and coupon level.
Minister of Finance J. Reirs: “In the borrowing transaction made by the Treasury, we have attracted a significant amount of long-term resources on favorable terms. The deal is a first step in raising the funding needed on international markets this year, as resources need to be made available to finance both Covid-19 mitigation measures and economic support, as well as other budgetary needs and public debt commitments. “
The issue of bonds of the Republic of Latvia has achieved the highest investor demand so far in terms of both number and volume – in total, more than 100 investors showed interest in investing in bonds, the total amount of demand reaching 2.8 billion euros.
The bonds were purchased mainly by European asset managers and banks from Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
The leading banks in the issue were Barclays, BNP Paribas and Credit Agricole CIB.
