The very good news from Zidane before Atalanta

Ramos and Hazard resumed training on Wednesday and could play in the Champions League clash against Atalanta on March 16.

Real Madrid trained in Valdebebas on Wednesday and Zinedine Zidane, the Merengue manager, saw the return of two of their most important players: Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard.

The captain and the Belgian striker have both been out for some time due to injury. On Wednesday, they joined their teammates in the group session.

Ramos’ quick return to action after undergoing left knee meniscus surgery on February 6 is impressive.

Absent from the field for about six weeks, he resumed training without sparing himself.

Ramos’ goal was to return for the match against Elche this weekend to see whether or not he could be up and running against Atalanta in the Champions League round of 16 second leg.

Hazard’s return has been slightly different. The former Chelsea star was injured on February 3 after a muscle tear. His absence, initially scheduled for three or four weeks, was ultimately longer.

A month later, he still had not returned to training as he was still in pain and could not train 100%.

It is now likely that both players will take part in the Champions League round of 16 second leg at the Aldredo-Di Stefano stadium on March 16.

If they continue to train with the squad for the rest of the week, chances are they will be called up to the Madrid squad to take part in the game against Elche, which will be played this Saturday at 4:15 p.m.
