The origin of the MSP project in Donnefort
A health project
The medical demography on the territory of the Agglomeration corresponds to a high risk of medical desertification in the next five years. For this, the Agglomeration of Agen in 2013 took up this issue.
Today, in the agglomeration:
- The density of private general practitioners is lower than at the regional level with a higher proportion of over 60 years.
- The density of medical specialists is already very low with an increased risk in the short term
- The density of certain paramedical professions is also to be taken into account (nurses, physiotherapists)

A political project
This MSP project corresponds to the priorities identified at several levels in the fields of intervention of public policies:
- Mandate commitment n ° 76 of the 2014-2020 program of the City of Agen: “appointment of an elected representative for health in charge of all questions related to public health, medical demography and the provision of care in the Agen neighborhoods “
- Major focus of the 2015-2020 City Contract: “Improve access to rights and contribute to the reduction of inequalities in health” by creating a health center in the North-East / North-West sectors (in the district of Montanou
- Axis identified in the Agen Agglomeration 2019-2024 Local Health Contract: “Facilitate access to preventive actions and health care, primary and specialized”
- Project unanimously validated by the ARS, the Departmental Council, the Region and the members of CODDEM.
A territorial project
The needs identified in the territory of Agen Nord:
- Passage axis serving the entire Agen health area,
- Nearby neighborhoods in need of “first aid” care: population of elderly people, frail people, people benefiting from CMU,
- Reduction of practicing physicians from 4 to 1 in 10 years,
- Near a pharmacy,
Presentation of the Donnefort Health Center
The Donnefort Pluriprofessional Health Center is on the axis passing avenue Leon Blum,
With an area of 500m²,fully accessible and modernly equipped, it is made up of cabinets that can accommodate nearly 12 practitioners.
When it opens on January 15, 2021, it has:
- 2 general practitioners
- 2 nurses
- 1 physiotherapist
- 1 psychologist
It offers specialist consultations in advanced consultation in partnership with medical establishments

The Agen agglomeration, promoter of health projects in the region
The Agglomeration of Agen is piloting a Local Health Contract (CLS)
The Agglomeration of Agen created a health service in 2018 to meet the health needs and public health challenges of the entire population.
It coordinates the Local Health Contract of the territory which identifies the needs of the territory, the actors of public health and the medical sector and the actions allowing to reduce the inequalities in health.
These actions are of the order of prevention such as the prevention of cancer, addictions, indoor and outdoor air pollution; but also on the medical presence component in order to make the area attractive to private and hospital nursing staff (communication plan, professional newsletter, social network, Agglo Santé logo, employment assistance for spouses, Healthcare Centers, etc.)
