Dijon definitely knows how to thwart ASVEL! After bringing down the Villeurbanne during the opening of the championship last September, Laurent Legname’s players did better than keep the French basketball representative in the Euroleague in check on his floor at the Astroballe. From the start of the match, the Dijonnais held high for the Villeurbannais during an undecided first quarter and during which the maximum difference was four points for the Rhone. A thunderous start to the second quarter, with a 6-0, allowed the JDA to have an eight-point lead … a gap that was reduced to nothing by ASVEL in two minutes thanks to Kevarrius Hayes (12 points, 7 rebounds). But Norris Cole’s teammates (17 points) were never able to get past, allowing Dijon to regain his locker room with a four-point lead.
Dijon, the bête noire of ASVEL
More consistent in attack, the Villeurbanne were able to erase their delay and take a few moments to score … before experiencing a terrible low time. In a little less than four minutes, the teammates of a very great David Holston (18 points, 9 assists) inflicted a 12-3 to ASVEL to take a seven point lead. Vexed, the players of TJ Parker and Frédéric Fauthoux then increased the pace to return to height on the edge of the last quarter. After a crossover phase during which the two formations had alternately the hand, the JDA found the solutions to raise the tone and come back in front with up to five points in advance. If the Rhone came back to two points, they gave in, allowing Dijon to sign a deserved victory (76-84), the sixth in a row in a Jeep Elite, which allows the Dijonnais to stay in contact with Monaco, still leader of the championship .

Orleans keeps Roanne head underwater
More than a month after its last outing in a Jeep Elite with a loss to Monaco, Orléans has not missed its return to championship business. Germain Castano’s players won their showdown against Roanne in a late matchday 13 match. If the start of the meeting saw the two teams neck and neck, the OLB raised the tone with a 7-0 to widen the first significant gap but, at the start of the second quarter, Roanne responded with an 11-0 which allowed him to keep his hand on the scoreboard until halftime, reached with a five-point lead. The Choir maintained their advantage throughout the third quarter but Jamel Artis’ teammates (26 points) began to weaken, leaving Orléans to sign an 8-0 to come back to just two points. Roanne resisted at the start of the fourth quarter, not weakening despite an 8-0 conceded from the start. However, led by Paris Lee (27 points) and LaMonte Ulmer (24 points), the Orléanais ended up having the last word with a success of eight lengths (108-100) which brought them closer to the Top 8 when Roanne, beaten for the third time in a row, is at the gates of the red zone.
