The “vélotafeurs” – the cyclists who swear by their bicycles to get around, especially between their home and their place of work – have dreamed of it. Bruno Bernard has not yet done so… But the “REV”, for “Express bicycle network”, promised by the president (EELV) of the Métropole de Lyon, is on the way. In the multi-year investment planning (PPI), voted during the last council of Greater Lyon, on January 25, elected officials validated a budget of 200 million euros allocated to the “Cyclable and peaceful metropolis” project (the sum also includes the arrangements planned for pedestrian travel). In total, the Metropolis plans to create 250 kilometers of cycle paths by the end of the mandate, in 2026.
