The increase in skin cancer and some of the patients’ reluctance to treat spots have always been problems, but these have been made worse by corona. Two dermatologists will give an online lecture about it on Tuesday for the Medical Public Academy UMCG.
Some of the people with suspicious spots on the skin remain unchecked for quite a long time. That was already the case before the corona crisis, but has become worse due to the lockdown. The skin cancer treatments continue through the crisis, just like most other cancer care. However, quite a lot of patients decided on their own not to go to the doctor or the hospital.
Dermatologists Emöke Rácz and Marjon Wiegman will tell you more about skin cancer during the free Public Medical Academy (Tuesday at 7.30 pm).
