Good sleep is a fundamental component to live well and to be able to complete all our daily activities. Sleep is affected by many and different factors ranging from nutrition, stress to the objects we have in our bedrooms. In fact, few know that to sleep well you have to eliminate these things from the bedroom: let’s find out together what they are.
No to technologies
According to a study published in the English journal Nature, blue light electronic devices such as smartphones, PCs and tablets negatively affect our sleep. In fact, it seems that blue light affects the production of melatonin by altering the sleep-wake cycle and sends an incorrect message to our brain, making us always active. Among the devices not recommended in the bedroom there is also a television. A study conducted by the National Sleep Foundation finds that 95% of those who go to sleep immediately after watching TV have trouble sleeping well. Therefore, we recommend not keeping electronic devices in the room that can alter our sleep and worsen its quality.
Working documents
It may sound trivial, but for many, work can be stressful. Keeping paperwork and documents that have to do with work in plain sight in our bedroom can make it more difficult for us to rest and, consequently, sleep well. Just as it is good to separate private life from work, it is also good, where possible, to separate the work environment from that used for relaxation and rest as the bedroom should be.
Disorder
The bedroom should be our safe haven, the place for rest and relaxation only. Certainly, an environment full of objects and disorder does not favor relaxation, nor does it help sleep. Therefore, we recommend that you keep a few items in the room and that it is tidy. In this way we will avoid that clutter and jumbled objects can distract us from our main goal: sleep and rest well.
Few people know that to sleep well you have to eliminate these things from the bedroom. Technological devices, documents or work tools and clutter are the enemies of sleep.
