Professor of Islamic Political Thought, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, UIN Jakarta, Din Syamsuddin, advised President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to fire the Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko because he was clearly involved in an event claimed by the Democrat extraordinary congress (KLB) in Deli Serdang. KSP Expert Ali Mochtar Ngabalin asked Din not to interfere in the matter.
“Regarding matters when you want to be appointed dismissed, it’s not our business, it’s the president’s business, don’t get involved, it’s not your business,” said Ngabalin, when contacted, Monday (8/3/2021).
Moreover, according to Ngabalin, Moeldoko’s participation in the Extraordinary Democrat Party’s KLB was a personal matter. Everyone has the right, said Ngabalin, has the right to determine the attitude.
“It was a personal (matter), right that Moeldoko was not the head of the presidential staff office, because he has the same military background as AHY, then he metamorphosed with the world of politics, entering here and there, who takes care of it, yes he is someone,” he said.
Ngabalin emphasizing that everyone’s business to behave is regulated by law. He advised Din not to take matters too much.
“There are three things, please report it to Pak Din. We are aware that the 1945 Constitution provides guarantees for the rights of each individual to have an opinion, attitude, and to determine their political rights. Why should this question arise. Try to involve the derivative Law No. 9/98 on the procedures. insiders express their opinion. Do people come to ask questions, ask Pak Moeldoko, have audiences, then plan an extraordinary event, then ask Mr. Moeldoko to be a ketum. Is that not his personal right? ” he said.

Previously, Din Syamsuddin questioned whether there was interference by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in the KLB which appointed Moeldoko as the general chairman. Moeldoko had previously repeatedly stated not to drag Jokowi off in the PD KLB case.
