Liverpool –
Poor performance Liverpool lately cannot be separated from their barren line of attack. Mohamed Salah and the other Reds attackers are indeed finding it difficult to score goals.
Liverpool still can’t move from its bad trend this season. The 0-1 defeat to Fulham at Anfield on Sunday (5/3/2021) was the eighth defeat in their last 10 league matches.
It will also be their sixth straight loss at home and they have never felt this way before. Many things can be used as reasons for Liverpool’s poor performance at this time.
Apart from the hurricane of injuries and the disproportionate quality of the reserve players, the infertility of the attack line is a problem in itself. At Anfield alone, Liverpool have not been able to score goals from open play other than Mohamed Salah’s penalty in losing 1-4 to Manchester City last month.
even though Liverpool made 101 shots throughout 2021 at their home, but only one goal can be scored. This is of course a big problem that manager Juergen Klopp must fix regarding his attack line.
Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino seemed to lose their tajinya. Of the three, only Salah still regularly scores goals, although there are not many. Of his last 14 matches, Salah only scored four goals.
Meanwhile, Mane and Firmino also only scored one goal. Even Mane and Firmino have not scored a goal for eight consecutive matches. Mohamed Salah, although still topping the top scorer with 17 goals, has been barren in his last four matches.
The infertility of the three attackers is directly proportional to Liverpool’s total goals for 14 matches, namely 11 goals or less than 1 goal per match. The attack line that had been a mainstay suddenly stagnated and lost his mind to break into the opponent’s goal.
With RB Leipzig waiting in the second leg of the Champions League last 16, Liverpool obviously you have to immediately find an antidote if you don’t want the wound to get deeper.
