Germany sends singer Jendrik with the cheerful pop song “I don’t feel hate”. Spain chooses one of his popular pop artists Blas Cantó. He brings with a sensitive and quite classical ballad with some heavy strokes, and in Spanish, “I’m going to stay”.
In Britain delegates the same singer as last year: James Newman, the older brother of singer-songwriter John Newman (known for his hit “Love me again”). It is not yet known with which number he will participate. Newman works as a songwriter with many other artists.
In addition to the “Big Five”, the winner of the previous edition is traditionally also immediately in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. That is the case in Rotterdam The Netherlands, with a striking song with gospel influences that is partly sung in Surinamese.
