Dana Deac is going through a difficult period again, after the terrible disease she suffers from has recurred. The journalist faced breast cancer, a diagnosis that was made almost 10 years ago, but since then she has heard this harsh verdict from doctors five more times. The last operation that the journalist underwent was in August, at a hospital in Turkey, where the doctors removed her thyroid. The day after the intervention, Dana Deac was able to speak without problems and walk alone.
“It’s the fifth time I’ve had cancer. It’s thrilling when you hear it. And I’m not the only one. After those irradiations in 2008, I never thought that I would get cancer again and that they would cause a new cancer. No one told me there could be a chance of getting thyroid cancer. Now, after we did it, everyone was convinced and firm that I did it because of the radiation from the first operation. I asked why I was getting irradiated again and they told me that there was a possibility of getting a cancer of the throat, one of the salivary gland or a leukemia “, said Dana Deac.
The journalist captured images from the bunker in which she sat and explained that classical music and integral magazines helped her get through the difficult period in which she was isolated from the rest of the world in a bunker.
“Out of the ten days spent in Istanbul, only in the ninth was I able to go out into the world. After the bunker followed the isolation in a hotel room.
