jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) received support from the Head of the Aceh Party and former commander of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) Muzakir Manaf.
“The meeting between the two political parties took place at the Democratic Party’s Central Leadership Council (DPP) office at Jalan Proklamasi No.41, Jakarta, Saturday night (6/3),” said the Head of the Democratic Party’s DPP Strategic Communication Agency, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, confirming the meeting when contacted in Jakarta, Sunday (7/3).
Muzakir Manaf, also known as Mualem, expressed his hope that the problems experienced by the Democratic Party would soon pass.
“We support Ketum (general chairman, red) AHY and the Democratic cadres to remain enthusiastic and this problem will quickly pass,” said Mualem while giving support to Agus Harimurti at the DPP Democrat headquarters.
During the meeting, AHY conveyed that the problems experienced by the Democratic Party could occur in other parties.
“If allowed, (this) will threaten our justice, rule of law and democracy,” said Agus Harimurti.
A few days ago, a number of members and former administrators of the Democratic Party held an Extraordinary Congress (KLB) in Deli Serdang, North Sumatra, Friday (5/3).
In the congress, which AHY’s version of the Democrat Party board called invalid and illegal, the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko, elected the general chairman of the Democratic Party for the 2021-2025 period.
