Last week, the news broke that pop artist Ellie Goulding (34) and her husband, art dealer Caspar Jopling (29), expecting their first child together.
It was revealed when the 34-year-old posed for an interview with British Vogue, where she showed off the growing baby belly – 30 weeks on the way.
– Getting pregnant makes me feel more human. I want to find a better word than female, but I have curves now that I did not have before. I like that, and so does my husband, she told the magazine.
The pregnancy kept the singer hidden from the public for eight months.

Now Goulding tells how she managed to keep the big secret for the long period.
She does this in an interview on the British TV show “Sunday Brunch” with Tim Lovejoy (52).
– I stole my husband’s jacket for the first six months, but it was mostly when I was out in stores. I did not really go anywhere else, the 34-year-old reveals in the interview.

Furthermore, the star says that it was apparently not as difficult to hide the growing belly as one might think.
– When I was out and about, I really just hid it away. It was not that difficult, and due to the “lockdown” I have not met anyone either, she continues.
Unexpected pregnancy
In the above-mentioned Vogue interview, the “Lights” artist revealed how she found out she was pregnant. The couple, as by the way married in August of 2019, had no plans to get pregnant so soon after the wedding.
– Be punctual and arrive on the due date
– It happened around the time when Caspar and I traveled away on the occasion of our one year wedding anniversary, and that was basically when we found out. It was crazy because it was our anniversary. That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant did not seem like a reality, she admitted.

Goulding further explained that at first she did not fully believe that she was pregnant, but as several changes occurred during the first trimester, she had to adapt.

What she wanted to eat was among the things that changed, and Goulding, who pointed out that she usually has a very healthy diet, suddenly wanted only food from the fast food chain McDonald’s.
This made her “terrified”, she admitted with a laugh to Vogue.

Married in a magnificent way
As mentioned, Goulding and Jopling agreed in August 2019. It took place in a grand wedding in one of Northern Europe’s largest Gothic cathedrals, York Minster, in the English city of Yorkshire.

The artist walked up the long church floor in a foot-side, elegant wedding dress from the fashion house Chloé.
The dress had long sleeves and a high collar, and was specially adapted to the famous medieval cathedral where the wedding took place. The couple’s initials were also embroidered on the bride’s long veil, and Goulding himself had been very involved in the design of the wedding dress.
