Paderborn – After three defeats from four games, SV Darmstadt 98 has recorded an important victory in the relegation battle of the 2nd Bundesliga.
The Hessians came to a 3: 2 (1: 1) victory in a turbulent game against Bundesliga relegated SC Paderborn on Friday evening and improved to 13th place in the table with their first away win in 2021.
The previous six home games from Paderborn remain undefeated with 31 points in the middle of the table and have almost no chance of returning to the first division.
The guests started the game better and came through a penalty converted by Serdar Dursun (20th minute) to the opening goal. Shortly before, Dursun was unlucky with a shot from the post after a spectacular overhead kick. Dennis Srbeny (24th / foul penalty) and Chris Führich (55th) gave the hosts the lead before Marvin Mehlem (68th) scored the 2-2. With his twelfth goal of the season, striker Dursun Darmstadt led to a 3-2 victory.
