ICW Believes There Are Still Other Actors in the Case of Djoko Tjandra, Asks the Corruption Eradication Commission to Conduct In-depth Investigation

Report from the Reporter of Tribunnews.com, Rizki Sandi Saputra

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTAIndonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) participated in criticizing the demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU) who sued the defendant in the case of collection rights or cassie Djoko Tjandra sentenced to 4 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million subsidiary to 6 months.

According to ICW Researchers Kurnia Ramadhana, the prosecution’s demands have not been maximized, even in the regulation of corruption, the demands given are not ideal.

“ICW believes that the prosecutor’s demands on Djoko S Tjandra are still not optimal and tend to ignore the central role of the defendant in the crimes he committed,” said Kurnia when confirmed, Sunday (7/3/2021).

Not only that, his party also suspects that there are other actors involved in the case that ensnared the famous businessman.

“Until now, ICW still believes that there are several people who are members of the political, law enforcement and private clusters who have not been caught by law enforcers,” he said.

Therefore, he asked the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be able to carry out a more in-depth investigation.

This was done in order to reveal all the roles of the actors allegedly involved in the case.

“Then, regarding the development of the case, ICW urged the KPK to conduct an investigation to deepen the role of other parties involved in the case of Djoko S Tjandra,” he said.

He also asked the Panel of Judges to disagree with the prosecutor’s demands when giving a later sentence.
