The success of the reform of the education and training system in the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun depends on the ownership of strategic projects and the achievement of complementarity between local development projects and those provided for by law. framework 51.17, said the Minister of Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Said Amzazi.
Said Amzazi, who spoke on Saturday in Guelmim during a regional coordination meeting on the implementation of this framework law, indicated that this project is a contractual framework for the achievement of the objectives of the reform of the education system and training and the culmination of strategic planning which accelerated at the start of the current school year.
He added that this process is the result of a roadmap drawn up within the framework of a partnership between the central administration and the regional academies of education and training, universities and regional delegations of the vocational training, emphasizing the promising prospects offered by advanced regionalization for the strengthening of this project.
The Minister welcomed the new structuring projects carried out in the southern provinces thanks to the new development model launched by HM King Mohammed VI which made it possible to modernize infrastructure, improve social services for the benefit of the local population and promotion of the human element.
He also welcomed the positive developments of the question of the Moroccan Sahara and the diplomatic successes recorded under the leadership of HM the King which enshrines the international recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over the whole of his Sahara and which has resulted in particular in the opening of several consulates in Laâyoune and Dakhla.
For his part, the Minister Delegate in charge of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Driss Ouaouicha underlined the importance of consultation and partnership with regional actors and which resulted in the realization of four new university projects in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region.
These are, he explained, the multidisciplinary faculty in Assa, the National School of Business and Management in Guelmim, the Faculty of Sciences, Economics and Management in Guelmim and the National School. of applied sciences in Sidi Ifni.
The wali of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region, Mohamed Najem Abhay indicated that the promulgation of framework law 51.17 is the culmination of a long process aimed at modernizing the education and training system, stressing that the authorities and the elected representatives of the region will continue their mobilization to ensure the success of this structuring and priority project for the future of the nation.
The president of the region Guelmim-Oued Noun, Mbarka Bouaida expressed the involvement of the region since 2016 in the implementation of the integrated development program of the region, and whose education and training sector occupies a place of choice, through a contribution of 172 million dhs to the effort of modernization and reform of public schools, adding that the council has set up partnerships to strengthen the university offer and the creation of ‘an integrated university center in the region.
A partnership agreement was signed on the sidelines of this meeting between the ministry, Ibn Zohr University and the regional council for the creation of a Higher School of Technology in Ouateya (Tan-Tan province), for a budget 65 million dhs, including a contribution of 20 million dhs from the regional council.
Another partnership agreement was also signed on this occasion between the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Guelmim-Oued Noun and Ibn Zohr University, for the development of education and qualification programs, and the French Institute for the organization of training sessions in the French language for the benefit of teaching staff and the encouragement of reading among students.
