After the launch of the three new models, Dacia plans a few more until 2025, including a larger SUV. But Duster could go through an interesting transformation.
When it comes to sports cars, Renault already has one Sandero RS available so far only in South America. Sandero RS was initially launched in 2015. In 2017 a new version arrived on the market, and in 2020 there will be another one.
Renault Sandero RS for 2020 looks a bit sportier than any Dacia car you’ve ever seen. As an engine, it uses a 2.0-liter engine of 148 hp and has a torque of 205 Nm, when powered by ethanol, and has 143 hp and a torque of 201 Nm when on gasoline. It has a six-speed gearbox and accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 8 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 202 km / h.
The next step would be a Duster RS. Four years ago, Patrice Ratti, former Renault Sport director, hinted that he did not rule out such a thing. “Every time Renault launches a new car, we at Renault Sport wonder if it is suitable for such a change. I don’t think we will develop an MPV RS, for example. But an SUV, a sedan or a hatchback, why not? ”He said.
Dacia Duster RS - spacious sports car that would also compete with models from manufacturers such as BMW, Audio or Porsche
Currently, the most powerful version of the Dacia Duster has a 150 hp TCe engine. A larger engine, possibly 2 liters, with turbo, could take the car to 200 hp. An enthusiast has imagined since 2017 what such a thing would look like. We are talking about a sports car, possibly Duster III now, built on the CMF-B platform and able to catch the eye of anyone in traffic or on the circuit.
Until we see something like this from Dacia or Renault, there are others who experiment. German company Prior Design came up with his own vision of this Duster model. This approach makes you forget about the “good” cars of Dacia and Renault and hope for more from your car. It all starts with the body: it is more aggressive, with a design that confuses off-road elements with premium car elements. Then the tires were replaced with some excellent ones for rough, snowy or even pitted terrain.
