Guus Meeuwis forms an occasion bond with Maan and Typhoon | NOW

Guus Meeuwis has formed an occasional bond with various fellow artists, including Maan and Typhoon. Under the name The Streamers, they will be performing from the Royal Theater Carré on 20 March.

The idea for the band arose during the livestream of Friends of Amstel Live in January, Meeuwis tells it AD.

“That struck us especially the days after: the amount of reactions”, said the 48-year-old singer, who, like his colleagues, had already announced on Instagram that he would come up with something new. “On the street, along the football field, at the butcher, on the phone, it was not normal. And it turned out that we all felt that way.”

In addition to Maan and Typhoon, Kraantje Pappie, Thomas Acda, Paul de Munnik, Diggy Dex and Davina Michelle also participate. “I sent out some text messages and within five minutes I already had a lot of commitments. We are now a week or two further and the ideas keep coming up in the Streamers app group.”

The livestream is free for interested parties and is the only event that The Streamers have planned for the time being. Yet they do not rule out that more will come. “For us as artists this is very nice, because we are terribly busy with things that are not going to happen.”
