Quarantines, record growth of 10,344 people from Bergamo isolated

According to the data released on Wednesday 4 March by the Bergamo Ats and updated to 3 March, in the whole province the number of people currently positive for the virus has risen to 3,818, that is with the infection in progress and therefore in forced isolation: it has already been passed the peak of November, and the feeling is that the race will continue until mid-March. And the chain of contagion has multiplied quickly: in the last seven days, infected people have grown by 1,037 compared to 2,781 on February 24, a trend that translates into a + 37.3% in seven days. A week earlier, that is, according to the photograph as of February 17, the Bergamo people struggling with the infection were 2,156, while on February 10 they were 1,471: it means that in three weeks – precisely from February 10 – infected people in the Bergamo area have increased 160%. Behind, before this outbreak, there was a month of substantial stability around 1,300-1,400 “active” positives, a consequence of the decrease after the autumn wave. But precisely even at the apex of that epidemic return there were lower values ​​than those of today, because putting the various ATS reports in a row, the previous maximum value is found to be around 3,700 positives as of November 20.

The very recent growth is even more marked if we look at people in fiduciary isolation, that is, those who have to stay at home not because they are positive but because they have come into contact with a person who instead tested positive on the tampon.

: on Tuesday, the share of Bergamo people in fiduciary quarantine rose to 6,526, with an exact increase of 50% compared to the 4,327 of the previous week; in absolute value, 2,199 more Bergamo people in quarantine in the last seven days. And if the comparison is made here over three weeks, that is, with the 2,947 fiduciary isolations as of February 10, the jump is 120%. The boom of people in fiduciary isolation clearly refers to what is also happening in Bergamo schools, with 119 classes ended up in quarantine in the week 21-28 February. The increase of people in fiduciary isolation, from a public health point of view, is positive: it means that the tracking holds. As of March 3, therefore, the people from Bergamo in forced or fiduciary isolation, therefore the positives and the contacts of the case, have become 10,344, a record.
