3. Sweet drinks
Excess sugar can cause inflammation in the body. When following an anti-inflammatory diet, sugary drinks should be avoided. Say no to carbonated drinks and sodas to help your body heal.
4. Spicy food
It is advisable to avoid spicy food when you have a cold, cough or flu. This is because spicy foods can irritate the throat and make you cough even more. If you have a stuffy nose, drink soup or hot drinks to avoid sinus. Choose a lighter drink.
5. Red meat
Red meat should not be consumed frequently, whether you are suffering Covid-19 or not. These foods are rich in saturated fat which can increase inflammation.
Instead, add foods that have unsaturated fats such as avocado, olive oil, and fish that are rich in omega 3 fatty acids. For protein, choose vegetable protein such as nuts.
