“Today’s task was to find a middle ground”
In a nightly press conference after the Corona summit (03.03), Bremen’s Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD) explains that the incidence values across Germany have fallen in recent weeks, but are still above the hoped-for values. Nevertheless, the federal and state governments have agreed on easing, as an even longer, strict lockdown would have too many negative effects on the social and economic level on the population.
Free rapid tests are supposed to help
In Lower Saxony and Bremen, as in the other federal states, a free weekly rapid test is to be made available to citizens and that without symptoms. As a result, for example, private meetings with up to five people from two households should be possible again from next week. Children under the age of 14 are not counted. “With a daily test, services close to the body, for which a medical mask cannot be worn all the time, should be permitted again,” says a written press release from the Lower Saxony State Chancellery.
