The incidence value indicates the number of new infections in the past seven days per 100,000 inhabitants. The extended lockdown in Germany was also decided primarily because the incidence values ​​continued to be too high.

Mayor Henriette Reker even spoke out in favor of the so-called no-covid strategy for the first time on February 17, which only envisages easing if the incidence is below ten.

The OB is satisfied with the latest corona resolutions by the federal and state governments. “First of all, I think it’s good that there is an opening perspective at all,” said Reker in the WDR5 interview. “This is what we have all been waiting for and what makes us all persevere: That you can recognize a goal.”
