Riyadh: The Ministry of Health has approved Al-Dawa Pharmacy as the first community pharmacy to offer corona virus vaccination services. They can be vaccinated at branches across the country.
A partnership agreement was signed on Wednesday between Al Dawa Pharmacy and the Ministry of Health to provide corona virus vaccines through all branches. The statement from the pharmacy said that the date of vaccination for Saudis and expatriates will be announced soon.
The statement said the partnership was part of a strategic plan approved by the country to achieve full control of the epidemic. Under the plan, Saudi Arabia wants to provide all means and facilities to ensure better service and security.
The basis of the collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Al-Dawa Pharmacy is to improve the health of citizens and expatriates.
The vaccine is intended to be distributed through the designated pharmacy as part of the ministry’s efforts to expand the national vaccination campaign to all parts of the country. The minister also said that the corona virus vaccine would be a prerequisite for applicants who wish to perform the annual Hajj pilgrimage. He added that a vaccination committee should be set up during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
Meanwhile, some news agencies have quoted Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq al-Rabia as saying that corona virus vaccines will be provided free of charge in all pharmacies across the country.
