My need for this great hobby is currently decreasing immensely. Especially in the time of the pandemic and the restrictions, it seems rather strange to me how the gas tap is pulled again at the first rays of sunshine. Some of these “biaggies” take to the streets with some form of longing for death. I can understand Mrs. Wolf very well how she expresses her resentment in words. There are a lot of bikers who also see a social component in this technical hobby, but there are also those racers in disguise – and quite a few of them. The behavior of so many (…) cannot be understood. The modern technology of the manufacturers, so to speak, puts a weapon in the hand of anyone who can pay for it in a completely legal way. (…) People, go to the racetrack! There you can run your head against like-minded people, but be considerate of the rest of the population. Lutz Rother
I’m slowly starting to wonder whether “Die Rheinpfalz” is taking action against motorcycling as a hobby. (…) If “Die Rheinpfalz” would like to hear the other side, they should organize a regulars’ table where real bikers and the “allegedly” harassed people sit across from each other. Ralf Hack
I am shocked by the ideas that obviously prevail among people who call themselves “the good guys” (not only) in traffic! (…) Thousands of legally behaving citizens and road users are denigrated across the board in the letters to the editor. A (supposed) minority is verbally finished off. The selection of defamatory vocabulary alone is frightening. It is only because this (supposed) minority does not have a common mouthpiece that the (supposed) majority of tin car drivers portray them as the bad guys, even criminals. (…) These infamous letters to the editor against motorcyclists can easily be transferred to other (supposed) minorities: mountain bike riders in the Palatinate Forest, cowl-wearing motorcyclists (“rockers”) and sport shooters. Overall, each of these groups of people is certainly not a minority, but they are not organized together. And that makes them vulnerable through these self-proclaimed do-gooders, who decide what is good and what is bad as they see fit. (…) In which country have we arrived where minorities are no longer allowed to develop freely? Bernhard Wilhelm
