A new hospital in project in Embrun

The community of municipalities of Serre-Ponçon, whose president is the mayor of Embrun, will acquire more than 30,000 m² of land.

More than a year ago, in the middle of the campaign for the municipal election, Chantal Eymeoud had promised: there will be a new hospital in Embrun.

“If the hospital must remain on its premises, it will die in a few years (…) we are going to build a new hospital”, launched at the time the councilor, at the microphone of Alps 1.

According to information from Dauphiné Libéré, this March 1, the community of communes of Serre-Ponçon recorded a budget line of 600,000 euros, for the purchase of land in an area of ​​more than 30,000 m². Objective: to install a new hospital there for the community of communes.

A budget of 17 to 20 million euros

As part of the deliberation, Mayor Chantal Eyméoud assured that “the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur has decided to move the hospital center”. “It is a decision of the state”, explained the elected.

In the columns of the daily, she specifies that the current hospital is no longer up to standards and that “the work would cost an disproportionate amount, compared to what can be done in new”. The overall budget of the project is currently estimated between “17 and 20 million euros” according to the city council.
