WhatsApp developers are working on a new feature that will allow users to send photos that will disappear, after the recipient sees them, as in the application Snapchat.
According to Andro4all, a portal specialized in technology, the new function is still in the testing phase, that is, its official arrival on devices Android Y iPhone it would take place in the next few months.
How does the new tool work?
According to the publication, WhatsApp will add a special button (which has the number one), which we will have to choose before sending a photo to a certain friend through the instant messaging application.
When selecting this option, the following message will appear on our screen: “This media will dissapear, once you leave this chat”. After pressing send, the image will have been sent correctly to our contact.
The person who receives the WhatsApp message will only be able to see the photo once. If you try to log in again, the same message will appear stating that the image is no longer available.
A characteristic of this type of message is that the image thumbnail will appear blurry. In this way, the receiver will have to open it if he wants to appreciate the content of the photograph.
Will it be possible to take screenshots?
The aforementioned medium indicates that, for the moment, it is possible to make screenshots to save these photos that self-destruct. However, it will most likely end up implementing a method to prevent the user from doing that.
