Emerging visual arts artists, mostly students from the Higher Institute of Art (ISA) of the National University of Asunción, presented last Monday the group they called “BatallArte”, since they affirm that being an artist in our country is ” a real battle ”and they are going to fight to make a living from it.
The central act was in the Manzana de la Rivera, where the members of the collective and the general public were present. On the occasion, they inaugurated an exhibition of works that could be seen that day and that were for sale. However, with the launch of the group they also presented their website www.batallarte.com where you can see the catalog of the various works of art created by members, and that can be purchased online with all means of payment.
On the other hand, people can also access to know the works through the account on Instagram @ battlerte.py or on Facebook as BatallArte.
Live from what one loves
On the occasion one of the members, Verito Espínola, stated that this group is a “revolution.” He encouraged people to ask what is it in their life that they want to fight for? “We are very clear that this is living from what we love, which is art,” he emphasized.
The young woman mentioned that “in Paraguay there is still a lot of the idea that the artist is going to die of hunger, so as a proposal to break that idea we wanted to make this group of artists, which is an art market that a little later we want to do it 100% virtual ”, he clarified.
In addition, he said that his intention is “to contribute our grain of sand as a new era of artists, because 2020 showed us that virtuality is much closer than we thought”. In this context, he invited people to visit the web.
“Lastly, we as artists who battle we know that every day is full of battle and we know that time is very valuable, so we are very grateful that they are here,” Espínola remarked.
