Music can calm, invigorate, lift spirits and bring back memories. “But it can also have a healing effect,” says Anna Carina Kriechbaum, a qualified pediatric nurse and studied music therapist. “I look after babies and their parents in the intensive care unit, but also all other sick newborns,” says the 32-year-old, who has been working in the intensive care and monitoring unit of neonatology in the Linz children’s clinic for more than a decade.
