Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, said that Egypt will receive 300,000 new doses as a gift from the Chinese “Sinopharm” vaccine.
She explained that within the next few hours, the vaccination of chronic diseases and the elderly, whose data were recorded on the registration website, will begin.
This came during a meeting between Dr. Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and Dr. Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, today, Tuesday. To follow up on the Ministry’s efforts in the context of implementing the presidential initiative “A Dignified Life”.
Madbouly affirmed the government’s interest in supporting the health sector within the framework of working to improve the quality of health services provided to Egyptians and upgrading the health system in Egypt, pointing out that “health” is one of the priority sectors within the framework of the national project for the development of Egyptian villages, with the “Decent Life” initiative that is sponsored by the President. Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and it aims to develop villages in the Egyptian countryside, and to improve the living conditions of citizens.
Dr. Hala Zayed presented the most prominent features of the Ministry of Health and Population plan for the proposed projects to be implemented as part of the “A Decent Life” initiative, which aims to prepare medical facilities in the villages and centers of the initiative, according to quality standards, in preparation for the implementation of the comprehensive health insurance system.
The minister explained that the primary care services facilities targeted within the presidential initiative “A Decent Life” number 1275 facilities, including the establishment of 57 new health units and 40 new medical centers, in addition to the continued provision of basic care services through 120 integrated hospitals, which can be paved to become part of the project. The Minister of Health and Population indicated that in light of the importance of providing emergency services within the governorates within the scope of implementing the “Decent Life” initiative, it is planned to establish 122 new ambulance points, develop another 276 ambulance points, and pump 240 new ambulances, as part of the national project. 510 mobile clinics will be provided as medical caravans in various medical specialties, to provide health services in the targeted Egyptian villages, within the scope of the initiative’s implementation, with the aim of reaching health services to citizens even in remote areas to facilitate them.
In another context, the Minister announced that 14 million children have been vaccinated against polio during the past two days since the start of the national vaccination campaign against the disease, last Sunday.
