Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) Indonesia is committed to encouraging the use of new and renewable energy (EBT). In fact, the company has installed a rooftop solar power plant (PLTS) at its factory located in West Cikarang.
However, it turns out that utilizing this EBT source is not easy. The company said that there are still a number of obstacles faced in the use of EBT, especially the Roof PLTS in the factory.
Public Affairs, Communication & Sustainability Director Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia, Lucia Karina, said there were four challenges in developing EBT. First, the limited choice and availability of EBT.
Second, regulations that do not support EBT investment for non-governmental institutions. Third, high investment with a payback period (payback period) the long one. And finally, there is no stimulus or incentive to encourage the application of EBT by the industry.
“The challenges that exist in the use of EBT, what we have faced are many things in the process since 2017 until now to develop EBT,” he explained in ‘Kompas Talks with IESR’ through the YouTube channel, Tuesday (02/03/2021).
According to him, some of the challenges he was facing made some parties hesitant to invest in the EBT sector. This is a common homework for both industry and EBT.
“The permit process, for example, took us almost six months to obtain an operation permit certificate and an operation worthy certificate. Then the costs are quite expensive, the export costs to PLN are still expensive,” he regretted.
He said that the absence of a stimulus made the industry have to pay for expensive panels. His party asked Indonesia to imitate other countries that provide incentives for companies that want to install PLTS.
“It should be an example of other countries like Germany, where there will be financial incentives for entrepreneurs who build PLTS,” he explained.
