Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pointed Iran as behind the explosion of a cargo ship in the Gulf waters near Oman last week.
In the waters of the Gulf near Oman, on the 25th of last month, the Israeli company-owned car carrier’MV Helios Ray’, which was destined for Singapore, had an unknown cause.
Regarding this, Prime Minister Netanyahu said in an interview with the public broadcaster’Kahn’ on the 1st, “It is clearly Iran’s work.” However, he did not provide specific evidence.
Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “Iran is Israel’s greatest enemy.”
Israeli defense ministers and military leaders have also said earlier that Iran will hold accountability for “attacking” an Israeli cargo ship.
In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Hativjade said at a briefing today that he “strongly rejects” Prime Minister Netanyahu’s claim.
Spokesman Hativjade said Prime Minister Netanyahu “has an obsession with Iran,” accusing him of “an act of encouraging horror.”
Meanwhile, Syrian state media reported last night that Israel launched multiple missile attacks in the vicinity of Damascus, intercepting most with air defense systems.
Israeli media reported that the bombing was Israel’s response to the Iranian cargo ship attack.
