This is Gamekings avant la lettre. What started as the first rounds of Jelle and Koos in the new game from Ubisoft: Roller Champions turned into a karaoke party featuring Amor FM. Just because it’s possible. Still seriously. In Roller Champions, two teams, each made up of three players, compete against each other to get the ball into the goal as quickly and as often as possible. You do this by conquering the ball, keeping it in possession with your team, driving it around the playing field and then throwing the ball into the goal. This sounds easy, but it is not. Jelle and Koos soon found out in this Roller Champions Let’s Play.
How do you become a champion?
There are several game types in Roller Champions. You can learn the controls by playing the tutorial, you can freestyle in the skate park, you can play normal competitions and much more. In other words, the game offers several options for you as a player to focus on. Do you just want to dive in and learn the controls through the execution? Then you just immediately dive into the normal matches. Do you want to get to know the controls more relaxed? Then the skate park is for you. Or do you want to be taken more by the hand? Then there is a tutorial that can turn you into a potential champion. At least that’s the point.
The next esport hit?
More and more games are trying to get big among competitive players and esports players. Roller Champions also wants to make a bid for this. Although several developers and publishers have tried this, this is more difficult than expected. There are plenty of games to name that made an attempt, but hopelessly failed. Unlike other new competitive games, does Roller Champions have a chance of success? Jelle and Koos get their first impressions in the Roller Champions Let’s Play and that apparently worked on their vocal muscles.
