The return of some classic arcade / Blizzard consoles seems not to be the only one we will see in 2021. The name Ziggurat Interactive was associated with the retro world for a long time thanks to his contributions to bringing classic games to new audiences. It seems that the company has been able to obtain several licenses of Data East and it will take them to GOG without any DRM.
The company issued a statement a few days ago where he expanded on the titles that he would bring to the platform CD Projekt Red and it made many fans happy, including myself, who remember Data East in its heyday, when it boasted an arsenal of titles, one better than the other and featured in every arcade around the world.
Data East classics at GOG for all tastes
The coming soon collection includes several well-known names such as Bad Dudes, Joe and Mac, Super BurgerTime, Y Heavy Barrel ready to be played on the computer without more than clicking.
What is striking, and which I think is a missed opportunity, is that the games included in this collection (they can also be purchased individually, it is worth clarifying) is that beyond allowing to modify the style of the screen with CRT-type filters, the titles do not even include the ability to save the game or something that motivates players to invest their money in productions that they most likely already have on their devices unofficially.
The list of games that Ziggurat published contains the following names:
- Joe & Mac – Caveman Ninja
- Super BurgerTime
- Heavy Barrel
- SRD: Super Real Darwin
- Express Raider
- Two Crude
- Bad Dudes
- Gate of Doom
According to the GOG page, these titles are expected to be with us on March 2. We will see what is the reception by the players.
