Malans moves up to 2nd place

Alligator Malans defeated Rychenberg Winterthur 5-2 after a solid defensive appearance. Due to the simultaneous defeat of Wiler Ersigen against Floorball Köniz, Alligator moves up to second place in the table.

It wasn’t the big spectacle that Alligator and Rychenberg brought to the field on Saturday evening. Both teams attached great importance to a controlled defense. Gate scenes were therefore few and far between. The Malanser appeared dangerous for the first time in front of the Winterthur housing in the 7th minute. Christoph Camenisch missed the opening goal after a nice combination of the first formation around Dan Hartmann, who had returned from an injury. It was also he who ultimately stood at the origin of the Malans tour. He passed Simon Nett on the right, who saw that Jarkko Nurmela had space in the middle and found his shovel. The lead only lasted a minute. Then Noah Püntener got the ball in the middle after the Winterthur team had escaped from a ball of players around the point of the ball with the ball. Püntener had no trouble defeating Malans goalkeeper Jonas Wittwer for the first time.

For a long time, however, it was the last time that Wittwer had to be defeated. Only in the 55th minute did he have to reach behind him again. At this point, however, the alligators were already leading 4: 1. The reason why there were no more goals for Winterthur for so long was also due to Wittwer himself. He parried some dangerous Winterthur counter-chances and did not allow himself to be unsettled by excess numbers. But it was also due to the very well-sorted and clear Malans back team. The alligators made a little more mistakes than in the top fight against GC a week ago, but the defense still looked very solid.

Towards the front, however, the Malans only hinted at Rychenberg what they would be capable of on a very good day. There was one or the other pleasant combination to look at, but often one got stuck with the Winterthur defense. Nevertheless, from the second section it became clear which team could take victory. With a double strike at half the game, the Malans pulled away to 3: 1. Tim Braillard with a full wrist shot and Nurmela after being criminally left alone after a free kick in the attacking corner were concerned about that.

This two-goal lead was never in danger until the end, so that the Malanser – measured on the game shares – brought in a deserved 5-2 win. On the next Sunday, Malans will complete the Masterround against long-term competitor SV Wiler Ersigen. With a win, Malans definitely remains in second place – which would mean the definitive home right in a possible semi-final.
