Earlier this month, a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was named as a suspect who shot and murdered a graduate student at Yale University in Connecticut, USA.
New Haven Police in Connecticut announced on the 27th (local time) that MIT had been issued an arrest warrant for murder for King Suan Pan, 29, a graduate student studying artificial intelligence (AI), CNN broadcast reported.
Pan is accused of shooting and killing Kevin Chang, 26, a graduate student at Yale University who was driving a car in New Haven on the 6th, theft of a vehicle, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Jang was found dead after being shot by multiple shots about 1.6 km from Yale University’s main campus.
Jang was enrolled in a master’s program at Yale University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies, and was only a week after he got engaged to his girlfriend Zion Perry, who graduated from MIT last year.

However, the investigative authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspected Jang died or whether Jang’s fiancée and Perry were acquainted with the motives of the case.
However, some local media reported that Perry and Pan attended an event held at MIT last March and had a conversation with each other, saying that they knew each other, but there was no clue that the two were in a relationship.
The New Haven Police pointed out Pan as a strong suspect, and has been investigating and tracking his whereabouts. But Pan is still on the run.
It is known that Pan was near the scene of the incident when Chang died. Also, Pan was driving a stolen vehicle at the time.
The investigative authorities raised a $10,000 bounty to provide information to arrest Pan. What was originally 5,000 dollars was raised.
The police said they were investigating the motives of the crime with various possibilities in mind, including the chief and the chief’s girlfriend and his family.
