FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
THE RHÔNE DEPARTMENT PLACED UNDER STRENGTHENED SURVEILLANCE, THE PREFECTURE, ARS, THE RHÔNE DEPARTMENTAL COUNCIL, THE CITY OF VILLEURBANNE AND AMF69 CALL FOR MAINTENANCE OF VIGILANCE.
On Thursday February 25, the Prime Minister announced the placing under reinforced surveillance of the Rhône department, due to a strong circulation of the virus: the incidence rate in the department for the sliding week of February 17 to 23 is 232 , 1 per 100,000 inhabitants, the proportion of English variants is 46.1%, that of Brazilian and South African variants is 3.2%.
Hospital pressure remains strong in the department with 818 people hospitalized (3,345 in the region), including 156 in intensive care units due to Covid (435 for the region).
In this context, Pascal MAILHOS, Prefect of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Prefect of the Rhône, Dr Jean-Yves GRALL, Director General of ARS Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Christophe GUILLOTEAU,
President of the Rhône Departmental Council, Cédric VAN STYVENDAEL, Mayor of Villeurbanne and Claire PEIGNÉ, President of the Association of the Mayors of the Rhône and the Metropolis of Lyon and of the Presidents of intercommunalities (AMF69), recall the need to adopt systematically barrier measures, limit contact and respect curfew measures.
At the request of the Prime Minister, the prefect has stepped up controls as of today, in particular with regard to gatherings of people, compliance with the health protocol in shops and shopping centers and compliance with the curfew.
The “Test-Alert-Protect” strategy must continue to apply and everyone has a role to play:
1. In case of signs of the disease or if I am identified as a contact person, I get tested first.
2. If my test is positive, I communicate the list of all my recent contacts to my attending physician and to the Health Insurance so that my contacts are quickly alerted and can take the necessary measures.
Thus, I participate in curbing the spread of the virus.
3. If I am a patient contact person, I protect others by isolating myself for 7 days after the last contact with the person concerned.
4. If I am positive for the virus, the isolation period is now 10 days.
As part of “contact-tracing”, when the Health Insurance is called after the test, patients confirmed positive are systematically offered a home visit by a private nurse.
It makes it possible to offer the test to people living under the same roof as the patient, to provide advice in isolation and to carry out medical monitoring of symptomatic people.
Anti-covid mediators act locally and vaccination continues to roll out
At the same time, the establishment of anti-Covid mediators (see press release of February 26), makes it possible to strengthen the fight against the epidemic locally, particularly when the local health situation, within a community or a company requires it. These mediators have the capacity to set up screening and preventive actions to curb the circulation of the virus.
Finally, vaccination continues to be deployed in the department with today 20 open vaccination centers (dedicated to people over the age of 75) and nearly 700 town doctors who began vaccination this week with their priority patients. (patients 50 to 64 years old with comorbid factors). Every day, nearly 1,700 people benefit from the vaccination in the department, knowing that 65,300 people have received at least one dose on February 26.
