Shortly after 11.00 a.m., the Zurich city police received a message that there was a collision between a tram and a pedestrian on Birmensdorferstrasse. In the area of the Talwiesenstrasse stop, there was a collision between the tram line 9 going into town and an 82-year-old pedestrian for reasons that are still unclear. Despite immediate resuscitation measures by the emergency services of the police and Zurich protection & rescue, the pedestrian unfortunately died at the accident site. The Accident Technology Service of the Zurich City Police and specialists from the Forensic Institute Zurich were called in to clarify the course of the accident and to secure evidence.
