Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch will today hear the statement of actor Hrithik Roshan, the complainant in a case registered against actress Kangana Ranaut for harassing her by sending e-mail messages. He was asked to appear at the crime branch office at 11 am today.
In 2016, Hrithik filed a complaint alleging that someone had sent an e-mail to Kangana from a fake e-mail ID in his name and that Kangana had harassed him by sending hundreds of e-mails in return. However, Kangana Ranaut claimed that Hrithik had given her the e-mail ID and had communicated with her through the same e-mail ID from 2013 to 2014.
Following the preliminary investigation, the police had recorded Kangana’s statement after concluding that he had sent e-mails from Kangana’s ID. In 2016, the cyber cell checked Hrithik’s laptop and phone. The case was handed over to the Crime Branch in December 2020 at the request of Hrithik’s lawyer Mahesh Jethmalani.
