Like a love letter to the city of New York, and about to celebrate 40 years of the firm, Carolina Herrera presented his autumn-winter 2021 collection, inspired by effervescence and spots that give life to ‘The Big Apple’.
Your creative director, Wes Gordon, created a collection which he defines as “the battle cry of a city that never surrenders”, as it fuses the cosmopolitan sports style and the theatrical elegance of the House, united by the symbol of the heart that inspires togetherness, self-love and passion for fashion.

The Empire State and the building One Vanderbilt from Madison Avenue, were the perfect settings for the photographer Roe Ethridge, because the creations of Wes Gordon blend seamlessly with skyscrapers and other iconic points of New York.
As if trying to evoke the essence of Central Park, dots and giraffe prints vibrant tones are the main elements of the collection; mermaid cuts and wide shoulders the 80s are also revived to give a twist to the retro fashion.

“The taffeta acquires contemporary cuts, as our new silhouette of a shirt dress with a cinched waist, or a rainbow skirt with French seam shows. Technicolor sequins and pops of tulle in pink and red they portend sunnier days, full of joy and togetherness, ”says Wes Gordon.

Bags and accessories they are also filled with dots and hearts that combine in harmony with the garments, perfect to wear the high fashion to any place and at any time of the day.

To evoke the energy and spirit of the city with an unforgettable backdrop, the models they walked the streets in a panoramic bus fully intervened with the emblematic Red color of the fashion firm.
The disco music, also a fundamental part in the modern New York history, is present in the fashion film that captures this tour of the New York city; which also brings us back to a tribute to the millions of tourists and locals who visit it every day-, which culminates with a celebration in the Times Square, the heart of ‘the city that never sleeps’.
