The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Facebook on the 25th (local time) that eight people, including staff and family members of the Russian embassy, had crossed the Tuman River iron bridge and passed the border.

According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, they are known as the family of Vladislav Sorokin, the third-class secretary of the embassy in Pyongyang, and a group of embassy staff.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, “As the North Korean border was blocked for more than a year, the means of transportation were stopped,” and “the embassy staff was on a long and difficult return home.”
They traveled 32 hours by train and 2 hours by bus, arriving at the border of Naseon City, North Hamgyeong Province, pushing the railroad track for about 1km and crossing the border.
After a long trip, when they crossed the iron bridge and approached Hasan Station, the border of the Russian Maritime Territory, they waved their hands and expressed joy. From here to Vladivostok Airport, a local foreign ministry employee who met him picked him up by bus.
North Korean experts analyzed that this was due to the extreme economic hardship, saying that the border blockade is prolonged due to the Corona 19 incident and the’Pyongyang Exodus’ of foreign missions is continuing.
In fact, Russian Ambassador Alexandre Machegora said in a media interview on the 8th, “It has become difficult to buy even basic necessities such as flour and sugar.”
