While Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are on the downward slope, Kylian Mbappé is applying to be on top of the world. After praising his former protégé on the side of PSG, Thomas Tuchel sent him valuable advice so that he could become the worthy heir of CR7 and La Pulga.
For more than a decade, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi dominate the football planet head and shoulders. Except in 2018 where Luka Modric won the Grail, CR7 (5) and The flea (6) shared almost all Ballon d’Or since 2008. Alone Luka Modric in 2018 managed to make a place for itself on the prize list while the 2020 Ballon d’Or was not awarded. And despite their advanced age, Cristiano Ronaldo (36 years old) and Lionel Messi (33) do not seem to have finished making history. When these two football aces retire, or at least ease off by perhaps reaching a more exotic destination, Kylian Mbappé could take over. But to believe Thomas Tuchel, the star of PSG can’t just wait for Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo gives up their place to him, he must impose himself, like the “Shark” that it is.
“Kylian Mbappé must dismiss Messi and Ronaldo”
“They (Messi and Ronaldo) will never, never step down of their own accord. If he wants to be there, he has to push them aside. It’s clear: at this level, no one will step aside for him. Hats off to Nou Camp is a message and that is what he demands of himself. That’s his potential, that’s what he has in him. He’s still young, he’s still hungry, he’s a shark in his mind. He wants to grab everything he can have. That’s the mindset you need, and I mean it in the most positive way possible, because he’s a nice guy. He’s a nice guy, super smart, super funny, but once on the pitch he’s a shark. That’s what the big guys are. If there is a drop of blood in the water, they come. It’s Kylian, and if he wants to get to the level of the guys you mentioned [Messi et Ronaldo] – because they’ve been there for years and years and years – I don’t think they’re ready to step down just because it’s happening; he has to take it. I think he will do anything to do it “, has explained Thomas Tuchel, former coach of PSG and currently at Chelsea, at BT Sport. Kylian Mbappé Will he follow this instruction from his former coach? To be continued …
