The MCU It has always been characterized by telling us interesting stories that are suitable for all audiences. However, with the advent of services like Star and the return of properties like the X-Men, some have wondered if Marvel could introduce adult-oriented content into this universe. something that Kevin Feige, head of this study, does not rule out.
During a question and answer session at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Feige was questioned about the possibility of watching series or adult movies within the MCU, as well as the limitations that may have been imposed by the classifications in the past. This was what he commented:
“Aside from Deadpool, which has already established itself as a certain genre and a certain classification that we already said we won’t mess with when we start working with Deadpool, other than that we’ve never come across a story, plot, or character journey. that the overall rating, or the tone or ratings we’ve been using up to this point, has prevented us.
He has never stopped us. If we ever are, then certainly there could be a discussion now that there are other outlets, like Hulu, like Star, but that just hasn’t been the case yet. We have been able to tell all kinds of stories we wanted with the tonality and classification structure we have now.
Feige mentioned that he is not against the idea of an adult film, and commented that he would be willing to venture into this market if there ever was a specific project that suited a different tonality and rating structure. Similarly, confirmed that no Marvel projects have been limited by their rating.
As you know, Deadpool 3 it will be part of the MCU and will retain its adult rating. At the moment it is unknown how this will be integrated into the general narrative of this cinematic universe, but Ryan Reynolds, who is in charge of playing this character, and a number of writers are already working on this.
In related topics, there is still the possibility of seeing Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Similarly, Tom Holland talks about his future as Spider-Man.
