We will experience the prelude to 300 minutes of live handball on Friday between Ferlach and Bregenz. With a home win, the Carinthians are through and can plan for the bonus round. Bregenz has no chance of the bonus round due to the two outstanding games between WESTWIEN and Bärnbach / Köflach. Because even if you temporarily move up to 6th place with a victory over Ferlach and simultaneous defeats by WESTWIEN and Bärnbach / Köflach, you cannot keep this place. No matter how the two games between WESTWIEN and West Styrians end, Bregenz falls behind at least one of the two competitors.
WESTWIEN, where all players have recovered and are in training, welcomes the HSG Holding Graz on Saturday. The Styrians, who no longer have a chance of the bonus round, would at least like to give up the red lantern and also need every point for the qualifying round. WESTWIEN has a total of four games left, the game against Graz is a first set point towards the bonus round. The match ball could follow on Tuesday against Bärnbach / Köflach.
The West Styrians have to play hard at ALPLA HC, which celebrated its first win of the new year last Wednesday. While it is the last game of the main round for Vorarlberg, Bärnbach / Köflach then has to play two more, both against WESTWIEN. In these duels it will also be decided who will be in the bonus round or qualifying round after the national team break.
That has already been decided in the duel between Linz and Krems, but for both of them it is about possibly decisive points Points for the second championship phase. After all, Linz wants to play its way out of the table in the qualifying round and thus qualify for the quarter-finals. The Wachauer orientate themselves towards the top of the table, which goes hand in hand with the first right to choose the quarter-final opponent after the bonus round has ended. The first leg ended 35:28 for Krems.
The big summit meeting and the fight for the championship lead will take place on Saturday in Vienna’s Hollgasse. After their peat festival in the European League against Metalurg Skopje (45:30!), The FIVERS receive Leader Sparkasse Schwaz Handball Tirol. The last defeat in the league dates back to the previous year for both teams, the first leg was decided by Handball Tirol just under 31:30. The winner of the game remains or takes the lead in the table.

WESTWIEN welcomes HSG Holding Graz in Südstadt
The SG INSIGNIS Handball WESTWIEN welcomes HSG Holding Graz in Südstadt in the 17th round of the spusu LIGA on Saturday at 7 p.m.
After the two-week Corona break, the Magnificent Seven in the home game against Graz are looking for important points in the fight for the bonus round. After 14 games, the West Viennese are 6th with 14 points, one point ahead of Bregenz and two points ahead of Bärnbach / Köflach. Graz had to admit defeat three times in their previous games in the new year and are in last place in the spusu LIGA table. In the first game of the season between WESTWIEN and Graz, Michael Draca’s team prevailed away with 24:29.
Florian Kaiper: “It won’t be easy, of course, but we survived the last two weeks well and have been fully back in training since Monday. It is one of the most important games of the season for us and we will give everything to win this game! If we implement what we set out to do, I am very optimistic. “
HC Hard receives the West Styrians and has the next points firmly in view
On Saturday, February 27, 2021, the ALPLA HC Hard will receive the current table eighth HSG Remus Bärnbach / Köflach in the sports hall on the lake. The kick-off is at 6 p.m. All fans can look forward to LIVE handball in the living room again, because the game against the West Styrians will be broadcast live by both Studio K19 and spusu LIGA partner LAOLA1.
The main round in the spusu LIGA championship is drawing to a close and there is still one game to contest for the ALPLA HC Hard. The Red Devils from Lake Constance receive HSG Remus Bärnbach / Köflach in their last main round game, the second home game of this week. With Ivan Horvat’s winning goal 123 seconds before the final whistle, the Harder won the first leg in October just 26:25 (13:11) and started their journey home with two important points in their luggage. In the renewed encounter with the West Styrians one would like to secure the points again this time. The Harder were able to successfully prevail at home this week and celebrate a complete success against HC LINZ AG. This should repeat itself on the weekend: the next point gain in sight.
But HSG Remus Bärnbach / Köflach is also hungry for points, as they recently suffered a few defeats. The victory in the Styrian derby at the start of the spusu LIGA and the first competitive game in the new year was followed by an away defeat against ERBER UHK Krems, the home defeat against FIVERS and only last weekend the West Styrians were defeated twice in a row by leaders Sparkasse Schwaz Handball Tirol – on 14th matchday of the spusu LIGA as well as in the round of 16 of the ÖHB-Cup, which means the final destination of HSG Remus Bärnbach / Köflach in this competition.
After 15 encounters, head coach Vladimir Vujovic’s team is currently eighth in the table with 12 points and therefore needs every point from the three outstanding games in the spusu LIGA main round – two of which must be played against SG INSIGNIS Handball WESTWIEN -, to keep the chance of reaching the top play-off. Alongside Sparkasse Schwaz Handball Tirol, HC FIVERS WAT Margareten and ERBER UHK Krems, ALPLA HC Hard is already in the bonus round.
The duel between ALPLA HC Hard and HSG Remus Bärnbach / Köflach will be broadcast live on Saturday evening at 6 p.m. from the sports hall on the lake by Studio K19 (transmitter K19 and at www.k19.at) and spusu LIGA partner LAOLA1. The preliminary reporting on K19 starts, as usual with the two moderators Johannes Emerich and Michael Knauth, at 5.30 p.m. LIVE handball at its best for all handball fans!
Golub Doknic, goalkeeper of ALPLA HC Hard
“A tough game against Bärnbach / Köflach awaits us on Saturday. We only narrowly won the game in the first half of the season with plus one in the last few seconds. I expect a good effort from us and a fighting spirit for over sixty minutes on Saturday. If we can do that, then I think we can keep the two points at home. “
