Enrique Perez

San José Iturbide.- Given the decline in the number of cases of contagion and deaths from Covid-19 that has been registered in recent days, the delegation of the Red Cross from this municipality, the transfers of this type of patients to hospitals have decreased by up to 75 percent.

Cesar Octavio Mejia president of the local council of the delegation reported that by the end of January a total of 35 services were carried out covid, while for the cut until February 24, only 8 transfers have been made, with a strong decrease from one month to the next

“Let’s hope that the decrease in cases of contagion by covid, but also the forecasts tell us that there is probably a third wave of infections due to the past celebrations of February 14, “he stressed.

However, -he added- that at this time this situation has remained ‘calm’, even having spaces in the General Hospital for the reception of this type of patients, being of great help making the transfers.

Since in January the capacity within the hospital was still at full capacity, making transfers difficult, and in many cases having to return patients to their homes where their condition worsened.

He stressed that due to the space that now exists in the hospital centers, the delegation staff is calmer when they come for a patient from covid-19, not having the uncertainty that he will not be admitted by the hospital, or any other impediment will appear that will make it difficult to deliver the patient.

To conclude, he expressed that the public should not relax health measures so that the decrease in the number of cases continues to decline as has been registered up to now.
