The Corona incidence in Bremerhaven has now risen to 180. There are 51 new cases and one more death, according to the city. Because of the high numbers, the opening steps for Bremerhaven should be smaller than in Bremen. Bremen Mayor Bovenschulte said this in his government statement in the citizenry.

Appointment shopping in Bremerhaven unclear

According to Bovenschulte, so-called appointment shopping is planned for the city of Bremen: It enables customers from one household to be served in shops at a fixed appointment. The Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce Stephan Schulze-Aissen cannot yet say whether this option will also be available in Bremerhaven. He is happy about the perspective. One must now see what is justifiable. Where there are no outbreaks, one can loosen up with a sense of proportion and caution. According to an investigation by the RKI, trade is not a driver of infection.

Rapid tests for teachers not provided

Bovenschulte also announced that teachers in Bremen will be able to use rapid tests from next week. According to a spokesman for the magistrate, this is not currently planned in Bremerhaven. Stick to the radar tests as before. The green Bremerhaven MP Sülmez Dogan criticized this sharply. In view of the number of infections, that is no longer enough.

City makes daycare workers a vaccination offer

Bremerhaven daycare staff can be vaccinated against the corona virus from Monday, as the city announced. From Friday the appointments for a vaccination can be booked in the vaccination center in the town hall. Astrazeneca vaccine will then be available for people under 65 years of age. All eligible people can get their first vaccination in March, according to the city. It is hoped that as many day care workers as possible get vaccinated.
