The Armenian military, who lost to Azerbaijan last year, demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nicole Pashnyan.
In a statement on the 25th, the Armenian Joint Chiefs of Staff issued a statement urging Prime Minister Pashnyan to take responsibility for the defeat and political failure of the Azerbaijan War and withdraw.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the current regime’s ineffective management and failure of foreign policy drove the country to the brink of collapse.
At the same time, Prime Minister Pashnyan criticized the recent dismissal of Deputy Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Tiran Hachatya.
Earlier, Armenia engaged in armed clashes with Azerbaijan for more than a month last year over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
However, the two sides decided to end the battle only after a fourth ceasefire agreement, and Armenian forces withdrew from the surrounding area.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Pashnyan said the military’s statement was an attempted coup and urged his supporters to protest.
Thousands of supporters of the Prime Minister Pashnyan and their opponents clashed with each other in protests in Yerban.
