Alcohol accident in Linz: driver was “distracted by cell phone”

The 53-year-old had to surrender his driver’s license, reports the police. The driver had 1.3 per mille intus when he came off the road by car at around 11:25 p.m. on Heliosallee in the Linz city area and hit a light pole. After the car was thrown back onto the lane, it came to a stop across both lanes. The driver, who said he was distracted by his cell phone, suffered minor injuries in the accident, but refused medical care.
