Disease Administration “On-time arrival measures…
“First delivery, delayed little by little due to careful consideration”
On the 25th, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on the 25th that “the temperature deviation of the transport container in the vaccine transport vehicle heading to Jeju in the evening of yesterday (24th) was confirmed with the integrated control system.”
The AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, which was being stored at the Icheon Logistics Center for vaccination starting on the 26th, was scheduled to be moved to Mokpo Port and shipped to Jeju Island.
The AstraZeneca vaccine can be stored and transported at a refrigerated temperature (2 to 8 degrees Celsius). The disease administration said, “In the process of emergency measures, we decided to replace the vehicle with an alternative vehicle including the vaccine, taking into account the time of the ship to Jeju.” We took measures to make sure we arrive on time, and we have reached Jeju well.” Vaccines arriving in Jeju were delivered to six public health centers and nine nursing hospitals in the province.
In Jeju, residents and workers under the age of 65 in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities will start vaccination from the 26th.
A total of 3193 people are eligible for vaccination, but the amount allocated is 3900 doses, which is more than this. The remaining quantity will be stored at the public health center in the province.
Meanwhile, the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was stored in the distribution center that day, is delivered to nursing hospitals and public health centers nationwide. Initially, delivery was scheduled to start at 5:30 a.m. on that day, but some delays occurred.
The disease administration said, “Because this is the first delivery, it was late because (delivery) was delayed little by little because we carefully checked the parts that needed to be prepared thoroughly and carefully checked.”
